Starship Commands
The following is an exhaustive list of all available starship commands and a brief description of what they do. An asterisk (*) indicates that anything in front of it is required to type, whereas anything after it is optional. So if you see TOA*ST, you can type TOA, TOAS, or TOAST. You will find that the majority of these commands are explained in much more detail in the relevant help files associated with them.
STAT*US [engines | sensors | components] - Displays a general status display of the starship. Optional arguments can be specified: Engines will display a status report on the installed engines. Sensors will display a report on your sensor range and mode. Components will display a list of all installed components.
SCAN [object] - Allows you to see what's around your ship. Optional arguments can be specified: Object will allow you to get more information about a single object.
HEADING <heading> - Allows you to change your heading. Required arguments are: Heading, which is the new heading you wish to orient to.
REVERSE - Causes your ship to spin completely around, putting you on the opposite heading.
THRUST <distance> - Fires your ship's thrusters at maximum speed for the distance specified. Required arguments: Distance, which is how far to travel.
BURST - Fires all of your ship's thrusters a single time, moving you as far as they will take you in a second.
LAND [planet | destination] - Lands your starship on a planet, asteroid, or other celestial object. Optional arguments can be specified: Planet, which is the planet you wish to land on. Destination, which can be one of three things: The name of a city or spaceport on the surface, specific coordinates, or the number that your destination appears as in the regular landing menu.
AUTO*PILOT Arguments are listed in separate blocks [] to maintain clarity with symbols [destination name] [galactic coordinates | intrasector coordinates] [intrasector coordinates] [<X> LY <direction or heading>] - Automatically navigates your ship to a destination specified. Destinations can be actual names, coordinates, or a number of lightyears in a direction.
