Policy 3: OOC

Stellaris is designed to be an active roleplay environment. As such, it is required that players remain in character at all times. The only time it is acceptable to be out of character is when you are using private communicators. Players remaining in character will be particularly enforced on public communication channels and in rooms during special events. However, if you are disrupting another player's ability to roleplay, they can ASSIST and we will look into the situation.

The following is a list of guidelines to assist you in staying in character. Please note that this is not intended to be a comprehensive list.

* Using chat speak or emoticons, such as LOL, ROFL, :), etc is out of character.
* If you wouldn't say it in real life, it's out of character. This includes statements like, "This MOO (or game) is really fun!" or "I need to log out of the game now."
* Telling somebody to type something out is out of character as, from your character's perspective it's not a game, and thus they wouldn't be typing commands.
* Transmitting actions is out of character. Communicators are like walkie-talkies and there is no way someone could see you smile or grin through a walkie-talkie.
* Things that occur in the real world are not occuring in the game world. They are out of character.
* We all play aliens in Stellaris and aliens don't have screen readers. Therefore, talking about them is considered out of character.
* Earth does not exist in this game. Never did. Any references to anything from Earth are out of character.

In addition, if a player rerolls, they have created an entirely new identity for themself. They are starting completely from scratch and it's expected that any conflicts you had with them died with their old character

The final say on what is in character and what is out of character is at the discretion of the staff. If you disagree with an OOC warning you've received, feel free to ASSIST to talk about it. Do NOT talk about it on the channel or in the room where you received the warning, as this will result in additional warnings.

Punishment: For each OOC warning you receive, you will be given stun time that increases with each warning. After four warnings, you will begin to lose [REPLACE THIS]. If you continue to intentionally violate the OOC policy, your communicator will be muted and, depending on the severity of the violation your ability to speak may also be lost.
